MAASFEP will honor up to two schools per Congressional district that have made exceptional growth towards closing the achievement gap and raising achievement for all students. Criteria for the awards include:
- Growth above state averages as measured by state assessment results;
- Evidence from at least one other measure that the school is closing the gap and raising achievement;
- Growth for two or more years.
Nominations will be accepted until December 1, 2009 and will be announced in January 2010. Schools will be honored at the Spring 2010 MAASFEP Conference.
